![]() Orb of Influence - Venus in Capricorn Conjunct Pluto in Capricorn until 1/22/13 This energy is intense even as the orb wanes. Coupled with the Sun in Capricorn and the Stellium in Capricorn of the past week, the Dark Lord and his Lady met up for quite an anticipated meeting in the Astrology world. I love the connections to Persephone and Hades in this story, but did not want to accidentally rehash something that other Astrologers were saying, so I chose a different couple – or a couple that never quite made it. This couple or relationship is Isis and Anubis. Guiding the dead through the Underworld was Anubis' job, and he was also a Seer, and guided the lost and orphaned. He served as a sort of diplomat between the Underworld and the Heavens, between the Gods and Goddesses and Humanity. Osiris was his father. Isis took Anubis in when she found that his mother, Nephthys, had abandoned him. Nephthys preferred Set and his dark, wild ways to those of Osiris and Anubis. Anubis became Isis' protector. Osiris took over as King of the Underworld, yet Anubis remained a key component, and there has been much fear surrounding him – he is after all, the one who weighs the hearts of the dead to determine their fates in the Afterlife. He is the “Conductor of Souls”. His adoptive mother, Isis (representing the Divine Feminine – Venus), remained the Goddess of Life, wearing the eternal symbol of Life, the Sun disk. A strange and lovely relationship between her and Anubis (Pluto) - a relationship spanning the worlds – the world of the dead, the Heavens, and the Earth. Why am I not writing about Isis and Osiris in this conjunction? Well, I wanted to try a different spin on things. Persephone and Hades, Venus and Pluto – they are couples that started out in strife and ugliness, force, darkness, then grew to love in a strange way that worked for them (P.S. I am not condoning incest, etc. We are talking about Gods and Goddesses here you know – they don't generally subscribe to the laws and judgments of humanity as they are the judges). Isis stepped down to the Underworld with her husband and her adopted son; she scaled the worlds just as Anubis did. Anubis was looked on with fear and perhaps even disdain occasionally, while Osiris was still revered even after becoming the Lord of the Underworld. Some of this fear is perhaps justified; Anubis was the Jackal of the graveyard who tossed the hearts of the unrighteous dead to Ammit! Despite these things, life continues in other forms. I have always felt that Hades was misjudged, and I first read the story of Persephone and him when I was 7! There was a strangely romantic, dark pull for me in the myth. Of course, I do love Pan as well, so maybe that explains the draw. So what in the world does this have to do with Astrology? Well, true love and Twin Flame vibrations conjoin the dark and the light. The Underworld and the Earth and the Heavens become one. Some lovers even become adapt at transcending and reconstructing the darkness, morphing continuously in a Magickal dance of balance and imbalance. They become one Creature, ugliness, beauty, darkness, light, warts and all. What are you morphing and shining in your relationship? Can you and your Love find that strange dance and balance? Or is it time to move on? If you are single, what do you wish to attract? Do you want to attract your Twin Flame, or another lesson in learning how to balance? Where are you shining your light? Watch for controlling thoughts and insecurities; reduce and release. This is Venus in Capricorn conjunct Pluto – let her shine her love and beauty on the Underworld. Pluto in Capricorn wants you to look at your darkness; how can you meld it with the surface world and the Heavens? What do you want – this Capricorn energy will make it manifest. Isis and Anubis – Beauty and the Beast, the Divine Feminine and the Deeply Masculine. The Underworld, the Surface, and the Heavens. Embrace, meld, enfold.
