Not only did I begin my very own Annual Halloween Blog Hop this year, but I was also honored to be invited back to post for the lovely ParaGoddess, Author JoLynne Valerie’s Annual Halloween Blog Hop! I am also proud to call JoLynne my best friend, and I invite you to check out her incredible Paranormal books, as well as her lovely and Magickal way of sharing her  healthy recipes, fitness routines, Cosmic Energies, and beautiful way of making everyday positive and Spiritual via social media. You can find her on Facebook here, Instagram here, and on Twitter here. And today, she is also posting on my 1st Annual Halloween Blog Hop - 8 Days of Spooky Goodness with The Guidance Goddess and Friends. Be sure to check out her post at http://jolynnevalerie.blogspot.com/.

And without further ado, my post!

Halloween is a big holiday for Pagans, Wiccans, Witchy and Magickal people, children, and for the Inner Child in all of us. Light some orange, yellow, white, and black candles, and join me in reading a short poem while honoring this day when the Veil is thin, and our Ancestors and Spirit Guides come through with messages louder and clearer than ever.

The Winds of All Hallow’s Eve

Shifting winds and cloudy fog
A swift chill in the air.
Magickal happenings are afoot,
and rambling Spirits call.
She wanders as if lost,
Calling to a Love no longer there;
The Lone Wolf howls against the darkening Moon,
And whispers shuffle through the leaves.

She is the Beauty and the Loss in us all,
Her skirts rustle and her Ancestors call.
There is a low hum and a deep drumbeat
That few can hear; She has never lost the tune.
Helping those who need it most,
Answers she brings from Behind the Veil.
When others ache for comfort,
Hers is the answer they seek time and time again.

So on this night of bittersweet chill,
Do not fear for the Samhain Goddess.
Hers is a Path that is often walked alone,
Hers is the Path of the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone.
When you look for messages in the shifting tides,
Her Spirit will blow feathers to you on the Wind.
Honor her and offer her thanks,
And remember her call when you long to dance.

Please join me in welcoming Christie Anne Blaisdell, Reiki Master, Spiritual Counselor, and Medium (these are just a few of her many talents, gifts, and vocations. Christie does not have a blog at this time, so I am hosting her post on my site. You can find her Facebook Page here. Please read on to see how you can keep your Energy fields, home, and workplace clear at this time when the Veil is very thin between Worlds, and all throughout the year.

Hello and Welcome to the 8 Days of Spooky Goodness Blog Hop!!!

I would like to introduce myself...  My name is Christie and I'd like to think I am a Jack of all Trades, Spiritually, so to speak.  I am a Reiki Master, Energy Healer, Medical Intuitive, Spiritual Counselor, Medium, Ordained Minister, and a Teacher.  With all that said, I am very sensitive to energies as many of us reading these blogs are.  The purpose of this blog is that I would like to share a little about energy and the Paranormal with Halloween around the corner.

Halloween has a certain vibe about it.  I am sure that you all know what I am talking about.  Halloween can be described as mystical, eerie, scary, fun, and even spooky.  Due to this, things of the Paranormal come to mind.  Superstitions, haunted houses, ghosts, goblins, skeletons, graveyards, and so forth.  Halloween is also known as "All Hallows Eve", meaning the Day of the Dead. This is where we celebrate and dedicate a day to all of those who have passed on.  For some, this adds to the hype of Halloween.

These vibes that we correlate Halloween to are for many reasons.  One of the reason is because of the actual energy in the air.  Throughout school we learned that everything has energy in the world.  This is the truth!  Some things and people have higher and positive energy, while others have lower and negative energy.  Some energies are more masculine and some are more feminine.  Some even have both energies.

We are all sensitive to this energy but some are more than others.  Healers are more sensitive so it is easier for us to pick up on these types of energies.  So we literally can pick up the energies of people, animals, places, items around us, etc.  On Halloween, there are many more energies prevalent as we celebrate a day to all those who have died.

As Sensitives, it is very important for us to cleanse ourselves, our homes, and our workplaces regularly.  This is for many reasons.  There can be residual energy left over from previous tenants, clients can leave their energy, and we may even have the energies of the deceased around us wreaking havoc.  There are consequences of not cleansing of not cleansing ourselves.  We can pick up others energies and take them as our own or we can attract energies and have these energies following us around.  As I have mentioned, these energies can be lower and negative and can bring you down.  Some can even make us very ill.

Therefore, it is very important for us to cleanse ourselves of energies.  There are many ways to cleanse ourselves, others, our homes, our workplaces.  I teach all types of methods of cleansing so you can choose what is best for you and what works for you .  I will name a handful for you.  My personal favorite way of cleansing is by using sea salt.  You can also use crystals, you can ask for help from Archangel Michael and Archangel Raphael, you can use sage, you can use Reiki, and you can even consult someone local to do these things for you if you are not comfortable.

If you would like to learn more about energy or cleansing please feel free to reach out to me.  If I am unable to help you, I am able to point you to someone who can.  Happy Halloween!!!

A Haunting to Remember
by Jennifer Leigh Scott aka The Guidance Goddess

Danica was tired. She was bone tired, in fact. The Autumn days had become chilly and dreary, and she was lonely - lonely for human companionship. She had no shortage of chatter, for Danica had begun to see and hear things again. At least that’s what it seemed like; she didn’t know if she was crazy or not, and she had been so sure that she had received enough counseling and blocked the chatter out so that it would never return again. She longed for a friend, an advisor, anyone who would understand. She was afraid that was never to be.

Danica came from a long line of Witches, Seers, Psychics. However, it was rough for her Mother and her. They were chased out of every small town they settled in, after the townspeople used them up for their insights, natural healing methods, and psychic visions. It always turned bad; inevitably someone would get a Reading, not liking what was said because they had no desire to use their own power to take control of the situation presented and thus take control of their life. They wanted the Witch to do it for them. And sadly, Danica’s Mother Jillyan had passed on without really teaching Danica how to protect herself from the dark energies, or to hone her gifts.

Danica was living in a secluded spot in a town where the people who had known her Grandmother were long dead or moved elsewhere. The sprawling old mansion that her Grandmother had left to her was full of old energies, old magicks, herbs, mortars and pestles, talismans, candles galore, drafts, and lots of Spirits. The drafts seemed to have multiplied this October evening, and Danica stoked the fire and shivered a little in her long white nightgown. She climbed into the big four poster canopy bed and prayed that the chatter would be still tonight.

Danica dozed off briefly, and suddenly shivered under the thick comforter. Then she felt a creeping warmth that started at her feet. There was a weight shift on the bed, as if someone had sat down on it. She jumped up.

“Hello Love. I’ve been wondering how long it would take before you took notice of me.”

Danica attempted to jump up, arms and legs flailing, but the large masculine figure held her down easily. “No need for all of that Dear. I am not here to harm you. You’ve been waiting for me all of your life.” She looked up tentatively, taking in a broad shouldered male with platinum blonde hair, a strong jaw, and a sure, confident expression. For some reason Danica felt a growing sense of calm, and she knew who he was. Somehow, she knew that she had been looking and waiting for him all of her life. She also knew that he was not human, was not of this world. What in the world was going on?

This was something altogether new and different. Although her pulse was racing and she was almost afraid to look him in the eyes, Danica knew that her life had just changed forever. She felt that he - whoever he was - was in control, and that perhaps her life would now take a new direction and hold some meaning. For some reason, she was excited and could not wait to see what happened next…….

#13DaysofHalloween #ParaGoddessHalloweenBlogTour                                 a samhain ancestor ritual

10/26/2012

Thank you for joining us on the Annual ParaGoddess Halloween Blog Tour.

Samhain, All Hallow’s Eve, or Halloween is the night of the year when the veil between the living and the dead is lifted. Samhain is known also as the Witch’s New Year. The Harvest is finished, the leaves and some plants are dying, the Earth will slumber for the Winter. It is a time when the old dies so that we can clear it out and make way for the new. The Goddess Kali Ma comes to mind in thinking of the cycles of birth, life, and death.

There is a somber, reflecting type of beauty to the energy of Samhain, and it is the perfect time to start a tradition of honoring the Dead and our Ancestors. This ritual is sort of a hodge podge of other ritual and spell tidbits that I have put together and made my own for my family this year. You can add, delete, or arrange any of it that will make it more applicable to you or your family. And by all means, include the children if you have them! This can be the perfect opportunity to help them learn more about their Ancestors and to better understand the cycles of Life and Death, and that all is energy - an energy that is constantly flowing and changing and morphing. Nothing ends, it just changes. You can also perform this with friends or alone.
First, it is a good idea to perform a protection spell/grounding meditation to start. Light as many white candles as you have, and add others as desired such as:

  1. green for money, abundance, and business success
  2. blue for help with legal issues and for a peaceful home
  3. red for love, renewed passion, and heart-centered living
  4. yellow for fortune and cheerfulness
  5. black for repelling evil and absorbing negativity
  6. orange for prophetic dreams and visions.

Join hands in a circle for an added energy boost. You will then call upon Angels, Gods or Goddesses that you follow, Source, Universal Life Force, or whatever you like to call it. You may also want to invite some of the Elementals like the faeries or elves. Ask everyone to visualize themselves with roots going from their feet down into the Earth’s core and with white or violet light coming into the Crown chakra (top of the head) and flowing down through the body and into the core. “I ask that ______ are here surrounding us as we honor those who have crossed over. We honor our ancestors and thank them for paving the way before us. We are celebrating the end of the Harvest, the death of the Autumn, and paving the way to Rebirth and Renewal. We shed that which no longer serves us. We ask that _____surrounds us with a clear white bubble of protection and allows only that which is for the highest good into our circle. And so it is.”

You all will then place photos, mementos, and anything that you hold dear and that reminds you of the departed onto an altar (already set up). Then have a feast (prepared ahead of time)! Set a few places  - with food - for the ancestors that you are honoring as well. There should be breads and cheeses to choose from, apples or apple dishes, Autumn veggies, and stews. Stories, memories, and laughter should be shared while eating. Wine, beer, apple cider, or sparkling juice will be used to toast the Spirits at the end of the meal. You can also honor departed pets or friends at this meal. Thank them all, as well as your Guides, Angels, Gods, Goddesses, or whomever you have invoked as part of the ritual.

Take time this Samhain to honor the Spirit world, your Ancestors and Friends whom have crossed over, and the cycles of birth, life, and death. Share with your children or other close loved ones and learn and share more about each other, and what it means to grow, change, and let the old make way for the new on one of the most magical, wonderful nights of the year. Quite beautiful really - we all get to welcome new and better into our lives; we get a second chance!

Wishcasting Wednesday

What step do you wish to take?
My wish this Wishcasting Wednesday is simple:

I wish to take the next step for my social life. I am blessed to be able to stay home and develop my infant business; however, it also means that I do not get out much. In the summer, with the kids home, I get out even less. We have one car, and my partner usually drives it to work unless I or the kids have an appointment or specific errands. I need to make the effort to get out and hang with a friend or two at least a couple of times per month. I also have some great new networking opportunities lined up with fellow lightworkers and business Woo-Woo gurus. But, if I tell the truth, my childhood shyness and my empathic sensitivities are peeking out. I know once I get there, I will have a great time. I know that I will probably make some pretty sweet connections. I just have to do it.

I would like to be as candid with my readers and clients as I can, while maintaining proper boundaries. This is why I am sharing with you that yes, I am still shy sometimes. Yes, I still get scared that I will not be good enough or that “They won't like me.” But, you know what? That ends now! I am always good enough, and I am freaking lovable! And should I ever doubt, I will remind myself I AM ALWAYS MYSELF, THE REAL ME. I AM ALWAYS A GODDESS!

Please join me by answering Wishcasting Wednesday's question “What step do you wish to take?” by posting your wish in the comments below, or on my Facebook page here. If you have a blog, then you can also join in here.

Blue Moon Words

8/31/2012

Since the moon is full tonight, let us call upon the stars in prayer. The power of concentration, seen through the bright, one-pointed mind, is shaking the universe.

All living beings are present tonight to witness the ocean of fear flooding the Earth.

Upon the sound of the midnight bell, everyone in the ten directions joins hands and enters the meditation on Mahakaruna.

Compassion springs from the heart, as pure, refreshing water, healing the wounds of life.

From the highest peak of the Mind Mountain, the blessed water streams down, penetrating rice fields and orange groves.

The poisonous snake drinks a drop of this nectar from the tip of a blade of grass, and the poison on its tongue vanishes.

Mara’s arrow’s are transformed into fragrant flowers.

The wondrous action of the healing water–a mysterious transformation! A child now holds the snake in her innocent arms.

Leaves are still green in the ancient garden. The shimmering sunlight smiles on the snow, and the sacred spring still flows toward the East.

On Avalokita’s willow branch, or in my heart, the healing water is the same.

Tonight all weapons fall at our feet and turn to dust.

One flower, two flowers, millions of little flowers appear in the green fields.

The gate of deliverance opens with a smile on the lips of my innocent child.

- Thich Nhat Hanh

Wishcasting Wednesday

This is my first time posting for Wishcasting Wednesday on Jamie Ridler's website http://jamieridlerstudios.ca/wishcasting-wednesday-what-healing-do-you-wish-for. This will be a regular practice here every week on the blog, and I invite you to join Jamie and me if you have a blog. If you do not have a blog, then I will have a status on Facebook where you can comment under with your own wishes, or you can comment here under the posts. Jamie has a fabulous site with positive and uplifting practices that usually focus heavily on gratitude and Moon Magick. I encourage you to share these types of practices in your own home and with friends and family.
Today's question is "What healing do you wish for?":
I wish for continued healing and insights about how to best treat my Fibromyalgia and its symptoms. I am continually learning new ideas and tips through trial and error. I also wish for healing for my family and myself of any issues that still remain from past experiences with abuse, addictions, unhealthy mental attitudes, and from the old paradigm. We are no longer part of that old system; we are part of the newly evolving and fabulous shifting matrix that will hold and send and grow love and goodness for this beautiful Mother Earth.
I am thrilled to be a part of the new love, light, ascension, and eye-opening growth that the world is experiencing right now. I hope you will join me, and I encourage you to be open and candid and really, really share what you need healing for. I encourage you to embrace Wishcasting Wednesday every week and ask for whatever gifts you really need and want. Do not be afraid! Your heart and soul will tell you what you really desire, and putting out gratitude and authentic intentions will mean that you will shortly see your dreams manifesting right before your eyes. You are not selfish for asking for what you need and want. Remember how, as a child, you believed you could do, be, and have anything you wanted, until the world told you otherwise. That world is dying, and the new world believes in the innate magickal qualities of You - The Real You! Go shine!
Believe, and wish, and see the magick and the good in all!! <3
